SouthAerial. 4/18/1994. Travel S, SE, from Garards Fort on SR2011 (in photo, the main road with gentle curve). Just past the sign for Dunkard township turn left onto a gravel road (would be just off the bottom of photo). In a short distance the gravel road turns into grass. At that point (about the center of the photo) turn right into a driveway posted with signs such as "Private", "No Trespassing". There are two or more residences at the top of the hill. About 1/2 up the hill you will see to your left the cemetery under trees (next photo).

HPIM3161A About 1/2 up the hill you will see to your left the view above; the cemetery under trees. We went to the residences first - they maintain the cemetery and it was not overgrown when we visited. The cemetery is on land owned by someone else, not the people in the residences. The fence with white posts has non-barbed wire that is common for electrified fences; this fence is not electrified (there are no insulators on the posts).

P1010079A "Enoch South died ... 1864" This is most likely Ruth (Gregg) South, dau of John Gregg & Orpha Gilpin stubbs, wife of Enoch South, mother of Elizabeth South who married Abner M. Baily. Ruth died 24 April 1864. I can make out the 24 and the 1864. Hard to see, but it looks like "wife of" above the South as well. South Family Cemetery, Greene Twp., Greene County, PA.d

P1010066A John South Born Sept. 29 1822 Died Aug 14 1902. His Wife Vylinda South Born 1837 Died 1910. John was the son of Enoch and Ruth (Gregg) South. That same website (text of next photo) lists sons "Andrew b. 4 Feb 1869 d. 6 March 1869" and "John M. b. 30 Aug 1871 d. 1 Sept 1871" as buried in this cemetery, stones/texts that we apparently missed.

Son of John and Vylinda South. We photographed the wrong side, details are from "Descendants of Adam EVERLY and Barbara SMITH of Greene County, Pennsylvania" (web) which cites the stone as a reference.

P1010067 "Nancy, Dau. of Enoch & Ruth South & wife of Amos S. Bowlby Born Mar 27, 1828, Died Mar 1, 1856 John S. Son of Amos S. & Nancy Bowlby Born Jan 29, 1856 Died Aug. 31 1858". A family tragedy: child born Jan 29, the mother dies 30 days later (never recovers from childbirth?), the child dies when only 2 years old.
